On 05.05.2022, JSC Olaine chemical plant BIOLAR, in cooperation with state institutions and local government institutions, held on the territory of the enterprise, at the address 3 Rupnicu Str., Olaine, local practical exercises on civil defense and disaster management.
During the exercise, a situation was staged when acetone cyanohydrin (ACH) leaked and burned. At the scene, the emergency brigade and firefighters took the necessary measures to prevent an emergency.
The purpose of the exercise was to test the procedures and planned activities set out in the civil defense plan in case of a threat of accidents, as well as to check the coherence of the actions of the participants involved in the exercise in performing the tasks of the civil defense system.
Employees of the enterprise, officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service, the State Environmental Service, the Municipality of the Olaine Region, the Municipal Police, the State Police, the Emergency Medical Service, and the State Food and Veterinary Service took part in the exercises.
