Hydrazobisisobutyronitrile (HIBN)
CAS No.: 6869-07-4
EC No.: 813-680-6
EC / List name: 2-[2-(1-Cyano-1-methyl-ethyl)hydrazino]-2-methyl-propanenitrile
Hydrazobisisobutyronitrile (HIBN) is the White or almost white crystalline substance. Stable in air, and at room temperature. Easily soluble in organic solvents, poorly soluble in water. Soluble in aqueous acid solutions.
Hydrazobisisobutyronitrile (HIBN) is obtained by the chemical reaction of Acetone Cyanohydrin and Hydrazine Hydrate. HIBN is the initial stage of production of various Azo-initiators, especially AIBN.
Product name | Appearance | GC purity, %, no less than | Specification |
HIBN | Almost white crystalline substance | 98 | Humidity: max. 15% |
Hydrazobisisobutyronitrile (HIBN) mainly used to produce various polymerization Azo-initiators (the most common is AIBN). Hydrazobisisobutyronitrile (HIBN) also used in organic synthesis for the production of certain pesticides.
